“There’s nothing to do in Arcata!” 

To the relief of bored community members and students alike, the Arcata nightlife is receiving a weekly boom for the next three weeks in the Friday Night Market. The plaza will be lined with artist stalls and food trucks alike for an event that brings out the best in our community! The Friday Night Markets will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m., the event is free to enter and all ages.

The first Friday Night Market welcomed back students and celebrated the uniqueness of our community. We even had an appearance from local celebrity and frequent burning man guest, El Pulpo Magnifico, a 28 foot tall kinetic octopus sculpture equipped with fire breathing tentacles! At the first Market on Friday Aug. 21 the plaza was packed with folks living in the moment, celebrating life itself, dancing with a giant octopus and eating delicious food.
